Quilting OC

Guess what I am doing today? That's right , Quilting! Last night I got the borders on and pinned my OC. This morning I was up at 6:30 making coffee and getting the machine out. I had to wait for much later for someone to take my picture. I bought some spray basting yesterday at Walmart but was afraid to use it. I read the warning and took it to heart. "Extremely flammable, well ventilated, plastic work area, neurological symptoms, absorbed through the skin, blindness etc..." I have enough trouble with my mind with out adding that to it. Has any one used that stuff before? Does it work? Is it worth it? I decided to return it and pin the old fashioned way (kneeling over the floor killing my back and neck). I do like to machine quilt but hate to follow any lines so all mine is free motion.

Does everyone start out quilting at the kitchen table? I will get more done when My quilting studio is completed. Today DH was working on it. See progress? He put the over hang(?) on today. What a long hot job this is going to be.

I haven't used the basting spray for the same reasons you posted so I also still do the self torturing method on the floor. I swear it takes me longer every year.Do you thread baste or pin baste? Quilt you're quilting looks very pretty.

Hi. I've been using a spray for at least three or four years--and my students all use it as well. Soome wear the little paper face mask if they're prone to asthma but on the whole it's not a problem. I do use a spray that's available locally rather than the"big name" sprays. I love the freedom of not going around pins, etc.!

Yes, I am afraid of the aerosol spray also. It seems like the only safe place to use it would be outside and that is not practical!I pin baste on 2 large tables.
How wonderful that you have a photo of yourself quilting - a nice souvenir of constructing this quilt!
