Star BOM

As I was blog surfing today I ran across a Star BOM that started yesterday. Yea!!! I may be in time to start this without having to catch up. I haven't done a BOM before. It is a beautiful star quilt by Judy Laquidara at Patchwork times. I did go to my stash and coordinate a selection. I will have to add more yardage to the background but it will be a bit scrappy. Here is the fabric I selected. Then Since it is August 2 and I don't want to be behind I had to make the star. It came out well I think. I did learn there is a place for pinning when piecing.

OOOH, great fabrics, and the star is terrific. Love the OC on your page. I'm not thrilled with mine, would have like it to be more 'controlled scrappy', more like you did-yours looks so good.

Tamara,
Thanx for posting a star done with a "large" print for the star points. It gives me hope that my original choice of fabrics will be Okey-Dokey for this adventure. My practice piece in Aunt Gracie's is nice - and I may wind up making two different BOM's. They will surely each have a different "feel"!!!
Thanx again

Thanks for participating and sharing your block. Great colors. It's so fun for me to see the choices others have made and then to watch the blocks and top come together.
