O.K. its day two and here is another post. Well actually I wrote this last night. I didn't want to seem too anxious. I tend to do things that way. Start off like gang busters then fizzle out over time. It is my intention to post at least once a week more is a bonus. Get ready, there will be a lot to start.
My good friend Dr. Marla Omar made this great dish while I was visiting recently. I have made it twice since I have been home.
Saffron Rice and Black Bean Salad.
1 pkg. saffron rice mix from Mahatma
1 can rinsed black beans
1 cup corn
1/2 cup grated motzerella cheese
3 green onions
1/2 bunch of fresh cilantro
1/4 cup slivered almonds
served over a bed of chopped fresh spinach or greens.
My Mother in law had a birthday recently. I made her a quilt. All right she picked the fabric and payed for it but I made it. The pattern is from Fons and Porter November/December 2004. It is 112"X118" I started to tackle the quilting by sandwiching it and basting it but knew I was overwhelmed. I sent it out to be quilted by Dee Small a member of my guild. She did a great job.
